Pontiac MNA André Fortin reacted to the news of the COVID-19 outbreak at the Pontiac Hospital located in Shawville. He says he is worried about the situation, but recalls that this is not the first hospital in Quebec to be grappling with an outbreak.

“If you have any follow-up exams, an appointment, don’t worry, you can go to the hospital, but don’t show up if you don’t have to.” Where I am confident is that this is not the first time that this has happened in Quebec. We know the protocols to put in place. I am counting on the CISSS to take charge of this outbreak and I am convinced that we will get there, ”says André Fortin.

André Fortin stresses that the hospital staff, mainly nurses, may be particularly under pressure in the coming days.

“These people are going to have a particularly difficult job in the next few days, there are all kinds of protocols that will be put in place. The task is going to be heavy and they are already tired. If you have loved ones who work in the hospital, give them a pat on the back, they’ll need it, ”believes André Fortin.
