A group of eight students from the Pontiac Adult Education Center, home health care program are fundraising to be able to go to San Jose de Ocoa, in Dominican Republic next May for a humanitarian mission. This ten-day internship would provide these students with work experience outside the country.

CHIP 101.9 met a one of the students of the program, Lucie Lozier, who told CHIP in an interview that it is a lifelong goal to go over there to help the less fortunate in another country:

The project organizers are currently preparing numerous fundraisers to make this humanitarian trip less expensive for students and an auction is currently underway via Facebook under “Humanitarian mission auction”.

A complete interview in English is available here.
