Accident on Hwy 148 in Mansfield

A one vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. on HWY 148 near the Pont Blanc in Mansfield. According to the information obtained by CHIP 101.9, the car, traveling eastbound, would have drifted into the opposite lane and off the road, sliding into the ditch.

The driver, a 70 year old woman, was taking to the Shawville Hospital to be treated for minor injuries to the neck and legs. According to a responding officer of the Sûreté du Québec, the cause of the accident is as of yet unknown, however many factors have been ruled out, such as speed, alcohol and drugs. The Officer explained: ’’the car was in perfect condition, the tires were fine, the road condition were perfect and the sun was not a contributing factor.’’

Although the jaws of life were needed to remove the woman from her car, all breathed a sigh of relief at the site of the crash. This is notably, the third accident in Mansfield in the past 6 days.
