The number of COVID-19 cases in the MRC Pontiac has continued to increase in the past week. The number of active cases in the Pontiac local service network is now 70 as of yesterday. At a press conference, the acting director of public health in the Outaouais, Dr. Brigitte Pinard, took stock of the current situation for the Pontiac, stressing that the region is still under close surveillance.

The outbreak at the Pontiac Hospital in Shawville has also put a lot of pressure on health professionals in recent days, but according to the Deputy President and CEO of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, France Dumont, until now the resources have been sufficient.

France Dumont also mentioned that the proposal of the MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin, in order to get further help, would be welcome.
