A fake William Amos Facebook account asking people in the riding for money

11 July 2019 à 12:00 am

It would seem that a fake Facebook account was created identifying themselves at The Pontiac MP William Amos. That’s what he (The real Will Amos) said yesterday on his Facebook page, mentioning that people had to be careful. This fake Facebook account uses the name and photo of William Amos to ask people in the riding for money.

According to Amos, right now it seems that many MPs are the victim of this type of fraud. He said he and his team are following the situation closely, but they need the cooperation of the people:

1 – First, he asks to make sure you see the blue icon checked next to his name when you contact him on Facebook
2 – He specifies that he never ask to contribute financially via Facebook or Messenger
3 – Make sure to use the phone numbers posted on his website (https://wamos.liberal.ca/) when contacting his office,
4 – And finally if you see a fraudulent account, report it and send him a screenshot of the fake account.
