The government of Quebec announced this week the establishment of the Accès entreprise Quebec network in order to strengthen the support services offered to entrepreneurs and businesses, and to accelerate economic development in each of the regions of Quebec.

To this end, a sum of $ 97.5 million over five years has been granted by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (MEI). Of this amount, $ 90 million will be used to add resources in regional county municipalities (MRCs) and $ 7.5 million will be reserved for improving resource skills, the development of intervention tools, networking and synergy of interventions between regions.

For the Outaouais region, the MRCs of Collines-de-l’Outaouais, Papineau, Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, Pontiac and the city of Gatineau will each receive the announced funding, which represents an amount of $ 900 000 over five years to improve and harmonize the direct services offered in the region and ensure that entrepreneurs are offered a renewed and current approach to entrepreneurship.

Accès entreprise Québec will be the gateway for businesses to services and organizations dedicated to entrepreneurs. The Government of Quebec wants to ensure that businesses have access to high quality support, growth capital and investment services comparable from one region to another and respectful of regional specificities. In addition, the objective is to increase the number of successful businesses and to promote the role of each MRC using a complementary approach of supporting and financing businesses with regional, national and international Investissement Québec.

The coordination of Accès entreprise Québec will be handled by the MEI, which will have a national steering committee made up of the main players in economic development in the regions. The implementation will be carried out in partnership with the Federation of Quebec Municipalities, the Union of Quebec Municipalities and other partners.
