2020 PPJ maintenance work

During the most recent meeting of the Mayors of the MRC Pontiac, new information was made available about the financial assisants for the maintenance of the PPJ under the programme d’aide financière à l’entretien de la Route verte. According the MRC Pontiac Engineer Kim Lesage, the MRC Pontiac has a total budget of $185, 000 for repairs and maintenance of the PPJ for 2020.

Stone dust resurfacing work will take most of the maintenance work for 2020, Lesage proposed to resurface:

– Shawville/Clarendon – over 4.4 km – from Shawville to the 8th concession
– Litchfield – over 0.6 km – from Callaghan Road to the Bernard Creek Bridge
– L’Isle-aux-Allumettes – over 8.4 km – from East Range Road to Airport Road
– Paving over culvert P-64 that was replaced in 2019

Call for tenders will be launched by the MRC Pontiac at the end of September in order to obtain bids from contractors to carry out the outlined work. The contract will be awarded to the lowest and most conformed bidder for a maximum value of $185,000 to complete the planned work.
